Ode to a Tree
You stand in the same place every day
Your stringy hair blows in the wind and day
I love to stand under your shade
And watch the sun slowly fade
A silent watcher in the cool dark night
No one compares to the enormity of your height
For thirty years you have looked by
Your ascending branches touching the sky
You've watched our family all these years
Lived on through sun and nature's tears
Each spring brings beauty in you
Green leaves and yellow flowers too
Your thick roots dig into the earth
Your trunk has a very wide berth
I think of you not as a plant
As something overrun by ant
Instead I see a familiar face
Without which my yard would be out of place
With leaves as restless as the sea
Overall a fine specimen of a tree
Your stringy hair blows in the wind and day
I love to stand under your shade
And watch the sun slowly fade
A silent watcher in the cool dark night
No one compares to the enormity of your height

I hear the weeping for the dead.
I taste the bitterness of decay.
I smell the rotting stench of still life.
I feel the despair of death.
I see the pale, waxy corpse in front of me.
Strange to see how death can change someone
This person was full of life, of energy
And now all that has been drained by death
Now a closed coffin lid and dirt will cover her
A grave will be all to be seen of her
But no matter what death does, it can't take away the memories
This person had character
Happy, bright and vibrant feelings stemmed from her
Even in death these characteristics define her
This person may be gone but her memories live on
Think not of her still body and white hands
Think of her laughter and smile
Remember happiness not decay
It's the best way to remember a person after they've gone
Memory will live on after death
I taste the bitterness of decay.
I smell the rotting stench of still life.
I feel the despair of death.

Some claim the world will fall by rock or heat
Others believe the world will fall by God
I say that humans will devise this feat
In time they will destroy the Earth we trod
It won't be in a flash or a big boom
Our ruin will be silently and slow
Technology will lead us to our doom
As it evolves our light bulbs loose their glow
With information as a click away
Our electronics are the predator
Assassins where the humans are their prey
It is a sly and evil creditor
That takes away the developing mind
With time it will see the fall of mankind
Others believe the world will fall by God
I say that humans will devise this feat

Ballad
Noah was feeling nervous about a first date.
It had taken him weeks to ask this girl out
It was clear that she liked him and he liked her back
He just couldn't help his feelings of doubt
It was going to be the the most enchanting night
Noah tried to make everything perfect
He wanted to make everything right for this girl
It was going to be beyond what she would expect
Noah ironed his suit and he ironed his tie.
He shined his black shoes with a cleaning brush
Noah trimmed his hair and he trimmed his nails.
He prepared ahead of time so as not to rush
Noah drove to the girl's house in his newly washed car
A bouquet of flowers and chocolate in the passenger seat
As her house came near, he started to feel nervous
He didn't know how her parents would act when they'd meet.
When he arrived at her house, Noah introduced himself to her mom
The girl's mom asked Noah to repeat his name as many times as a dozen
Finally she asked "Is your father Roberto Flores?"
When Noah assented she replied "How funny. You and my daughter are cousins."

A friend is all you'll ever need in life
They stick to you like paper sticks to glue
A friend will stay with you through storm and strife.
When you feel pain a friend will dull the knife
Their help will change your mood to great from blue
A friend is all you'll ever need in life
A person with devotion like a wife
In good times and in bad a friend stays true
A friend will stay with you through storm and strife.
True friends are rare where many fakes run rife
They can be hard to find but worth the few
A friend is all you'll ever need in life
Knows the you that is a wildlife
Keeps you tight like laces on a shoe
A friend will stay with you through storm and strife.
Dear friend I'd follow you though afterlife
I say this on behalf of all you do
A friend is all you'll ever need in life
A friend will stay with you through storm and strife.

Where ever you are it is good to be a kind person.
Sympathize and give money to a blind person.
You never know the real story behind a person's situation.
So hold judgment and don't be a maligned person.
Don't be disgusted by grubbiness, smell, or dirty appearance.
The cover of someone can hold inside a refined person.
Nobody wants to be kind when they're too busy looking out for themselves.
It's easier to ignore and to be an unkind person.
So remember Julian, show caring character whenever you go.
Step away from the usual crowd and be an undefined person.

Love is a crazy rushed ride
A adventure that is wild-eyed and tough
With still waters and waves rough
As if the emotions aren't enough to bare
It leaves you exposed to tear
Love is all that you wear, you see
It makes people choose to flee
Love is something that isn't free to receive
With heart on your sleeve
Someone will cause it to cleave in two
You heart will crumble in you
It will turn a sickish hue and decay
But it won't stay that way
Someone will come along some day later on
They will come like the dawn
The aching heartbreak will be gone in time

Tease one another
Hate each other
Endure you
Bicker constantly
Eat your food
Empty your refrigerator
Stalk you
Trash talk to you
Fight for you
Rely on one another
Insult you all the time
Exchange gossip
Need each other
Describe each other as annoying
Stick to each other no matter what

An animal is more than just a pet
They do more than just meow, bark or hiss
Their whole life revolves around you
An animal is your companion
They see when no one else notices
The sympathize in a way no one else can
The best therapists are animals
They understand on a level which humans cannot
An animal has devotion
They stick around when no one else does
Nothing can compare to the loyalty of an animal

Dramatic Monologue
Something very strange occurred tonight.
As I worked at the police station's new site
A call came in from a frightened voice.
The person sounded like it was their last choice.
All the person was able to say was bracelet and beads of three
A strange choice of words to say to me.
Don't you think so?
When we reached the premises the person had been lying low;
bruises suggested she had been kicked.
Are you alright?
You've gotten sweaty and fidgety a mite.
Anyways, back to my tale.
Well, the murderer left a trail;
A piece of cloth with S initials on it
Stacy your face has gone white a bit.
I think you need to sit on a chair.
You look like a ghost, I swear.
Why do you suddenly hide your left hand from me?
Is there something you don't want me to see?
I've been noticing you as I speak.
Your eyes have gone wild and you've become weak.
When I asked about your scratches, you spoke vaguely to me.
When I told you this story, I guessed how you would react, you see.
You always did like that pink bracelet I gave you when we went to the zoo.
Stacy, you killed that girl didn't you?
